Lavender Fields is the first book that I've read by Natalina Reis. And I have to say, I was completely surprised with the read.
I was pleasantly surprised when I started reading this book. Let me begin by saying that I did not read the synopsis, or other reviews. Which I don’t usually do. I like to know what I'm getting myself into. But for some reason, I didn’t this time. So to initially read: "you are the most beautiful man I have ever met."
I am In no way a prude, but I've never read M/M books before in my life. And I was shocked to know that I was okay with this storyline. I was surprised and looking forward to learning more about our characters.
Like Sky Heavensent, for example. He's know as an angel - an angel of death to be precise. He is sent to collect the souls of those who have died. His duty is to collect them and release them in order to be able to move on to Heaven. And for the most part, he does his job - although clumsily. That is, until he meets Caleb Pierce. He meets him after "falling" in order to collect his soul. But instead of landing, he crashes and goes blank. He gets waken by a group of guys - one of those being Caleb, one eye emerald green and the other a deep shade of violet - which in his mind, reminds him of lavender Fields.
Without going into details, this book deals with a lot of drama and suspense. Light vs Dark. Good vs Evil. Again, I was surprised with how much I enjoyed reading this book. I enjoyed the characters and what they had to offer. I have to say that I'm excited to read more from this author and see what else she has to offer me as a reader. Again, I'm no prude, and unless it's a completely boring story that doesn't carry a line whatsoever, then that is when I give up on it.
As for this book, I found myself reading it all the way and actually enjoying it. I give this book 4 stars!
