Dream Me by Kathryn Berla

I was more than happy to start reading Dream Me by Kathryn Berla when I first heard of it. It's a YA Sci-Fi? Say no more. I love reading Sci-Fi, just as much as I like watching it!

So when I heard the premise of the book, I was a little interested. The book starts off with Zat, and him describing the Earth in which he now lives - a total and complete wasteland. One where people are fleeing and going elsewhere in order to survive. But not Zat. He plans on doing something different - staying behind and time travelling.

I was intrigued when I first heard this portion, because who in their right mind doesn't like time travel? Fast forward - or is it back track? - to the past, where we meet Babe. She's the new girl in town (with a lot of experience in being the new girl). Her family has just relocated to the Peninsula – Sugar Dunes, Florida. Her father is a Pro-Golfer, which means that he has to go where the money is. And his family has to follow right along.

I have to say, that the book was a little slow to start. And I had to keep reminding myself that we were reading (2) different POVs. Usually, I can follow right along with no problem, but had a little of a struggle with this one. Other than that, once the book picked up I was fine. I enjoyed the way that the characters were developed. And even though we don't see the "normal" way in which they fall in love, it's still a good read and storyline.

I'm definitely interested to read more from this author and see what more she has to offer her readers. As for this book, I definitely give it 4 stars, because it was well written. I know that not everyone has the same reading interests, and that's okay.

Promises of Virtue by Randi Perrin

Let me start by saying, it’s Cheryls STORY!!! This makes me so happy.

Promises of Virtue is the second book in the Earthbound Series. It continues right after Sera’s story – which I absolutely loved – by the way. I’ve mentioned before that I love reading Paranormal Romance! And Randi Perrin has done an amazing job reading a magnificent and believable world with well developed characters.

Cheryl was an Angel of Mercy, while her best friend was an Angel of Death! Cheryl definitely added a lot of spunk to the first book, so when I first finished it and found out that there would be more to the story – I was ecstatic!

Needless to say that we definitely get a good dose of suspense, mystery, love and sacrifice. I love how Randi incorporates every single subject in this book. She does a really good job of sucking you in and entwining you with her characters. That’s what I love the most, is loosing myself and feeling like I’m there, with them. Living and experiencing right along them. Enjoying life, and sorrow at the same time. Feeling happiness and sadness with Cheryl. Screaming at her when she makes the wrong choices. And rooting for her when she makes the right choices and when things work out for her in her life!

It’s been definitely an enjoyable book, and I hope to continue reading more books by this author.

Unloved by K.D. Woof

I went into Unloved by K.D. Wood, without realizing that this was the second book to a series. So needless to say that I was slightly lost at first. It actually took me a couple of chapters to figure out what was happening and why.

The book starts off with Andrew Huckley, sending off a package to someone, and needing to do it for his son. Then it jumps to Neely McIntire – receiving a package from Andrew with a HUGE bombshell. So needless to say, I was a little confused. How could she not know that she’d had a kid. But the more I read, the more I realized and pieced together what had happened in the previous book.

I do have to say that I did enjoy this book. I liked it enough to continue reading. I had a desire to figure out what had happened and what was going to happen.

I was very impressed with the authors writing style. There was a touch of Paranormal – and dare I say mythical aspect to it. I enjoyed and appreciated what we were offered as readers. I like that I was able to loose myself within the storyline and world. And even though Andrew had literally wronged Neely in the first book, I felt like he had made up for his mistakes and heavily paid for them.

I feel like Neely literally went through hell, and it’s not something that she had asked for. But the fact that she was able to forgive someone that had hurt her so badly gave me a sense of peace. I hate everything that she had to endure, but understand that it was needed in order to grow as a person and mother.

Now to see what the future  holds for her and Lucas, her unexpected son. As well as Hayden and what schemes he is up to with the Guard. I’ll be very interested to read the next book in this series and find out what happens!

Overall, I would consider this a 4 Star Read as it kept my interest.

Lavender Fields by Natalina Reis

Lavender Fields is the first book that I've read by Natalina Reis. And I have to say, I was completely surprised with the read.

I was pleasantly surprised when I started reading this book. Let me begin by saying that I did not read the synopsis, or other reviews. Which I don’t usually do. I like to know what I'm getting myself into. But for some reason, I didn’t this time. So to initially read: "you are the most beautiful man I have ever met."

I am In no way a prude, but I've never read M/M books before in my life. And I was shocked to know that I was okay with this storyline. I was surprised and looking forward to learning more about our characters.

Like Sky Heavensent, for example. He's know as an angel - an angel of death to be precise. He is sent to collect the souls of those who have died. His duty is to collect them and release them in order to be able to move on to Heaven. And for the most part, he does his job - although clumsily. That is, until he meets Caleb Pierce. He meets him after "falling" in order to collect his soul. But instead of landing, he crashes and goes blank. He gets waken by a group of guys - one of those being Caleb, one eye emerald green and the other a deep shade of violet - which in his mind, reminds him of lavender Fields.

Without going into details, this book deals with a lot of drama and suspense. Light vs Dark. Good vs Evil. Again, I was surprised with how much I enjoyed reading this book. I enjoyed the characters and what they had to offer. I have to say that I'm excited to read more from this author and see what else she has to offer me as a reader. Again, I'm no prude, and unless it's a completely boring story that doesn't carry a line whatsoever, then that is when I give up on it.

As for this book, I found myself reading it all the way and actually enjoying it. I give this book 4 stars!

Dead Before Dying by Kerry Schafer

Dead Before Dying is the first book that I’ve read by Kerry Schafer. I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed this book and the storyline. If you know me, then you know that I love reading Paranormal.

We meet Maureen Keslyn on the day that she’s being released from the hospital. We know that she’s a Federal Agent, who has been given a new assignment. That being, to become a resident of Shadow Valley Manor. A place where it’s residents are being found dead – and not just from old age or an abnormal heart attack. She has to figure out what is going on, and how to stop whatever is happening

Like I mentioned before, I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed the book. Kerry did a very good job with character development. I found myself rooting for Maureen and cheering her on, even though she described herself as an old lady (I mean, she’s old enough to be a resident at an “assisted living” place!). I loved that she was tough – through and through. And even though life wasn’t fair to her, she did her best to keep on going. I was also impressed with some of the other characters; like the sherif, a man that didn’t trust easily but genuinely cared for his town and it’s people. A man that wanted to keep everyone safe.

I appreciate that there was just enough suspense in this storyline. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting to know what Maureen would discover or encounter while wandering throughout the Manor. I definitely consider this a 5 star review, as I personally enjoyed it!
